BIOS Firmware
Software upgrades to the CPU Basic Input/Output Subsystem
(BIOS) firmware for 3rd generation models of the Stratus ftServer family of computer
systems using the Microsoft Windows Server™ 2003
R2 and 2008 Operating
Systems. Contact Stratus Customer Services or your support
provider for assistance installing this firmware.

This CPU BIOS is mandatory ONLY for ftServer 2500,
4400, and 6200 systems operating VMware® ESX 2.0 or
above. However ftServer System Software 5.3.1.x
Readiness test for Windows will require updating to CPU
BIOS 2.2.60 or above prior to upgrading.

This CPU BIOS is mandatory ONLY for ftServer 2500, 4400
or 6200 systems containing G-Step processors.

It is not mandatory to update CPU BIOS firmware to
2.2.58 on ftServer 2500, 4400 or 6200 systems. However,
it is recommended that the CPU BIOS firmware be updated
to 2.2.58 when upgrading to ftServer system software
(ftSSS) 5.1.0.x and above for Windows in order to
acquire bug fixes.
